(More customer reviews)Attaching the GPS unit to this vent mount instead of using the suction mount that comes with the GPS has the advantage that you can take the whole thing off and put it into the glove compartment, without any visible sign of a GPS in your car. That's a great help to prevent break-ins because thieves nowadays look for traces of suction mounts or empty GPS cradles and will smash the window to check.
The vent mount requires some fiddling to get it on and off the vent, though. You have to press the clamps together with force and wiggle the mount back-and-forth to slide it over the hump. Once attached, it is reasonably stable, even on bumpy roads.

What a great mount! Unlike many other vent solutions that use universal cradles, this is manufactured specifically for your TomTom One. This fits the groove on the back of the TomTom just like the one that came in the box. That means no cradle is needed.
